Draft Pesticide Management Bill 2025

The Government of India, on 7th January 2026, released a fresh draft of the Pesticide Management Bill. The bill is an attempt to replace the 1968 Insecticide Act and its underlying Insecticides Rules of 1971. Since 2000-01 many attempts have been made to amend the 1968 Act and the 1971 rules, but to no avail.
